Cathy provides a nonjudgmental and safe therapeutic environment for her clients and she values client-therapist alliance above anything else. Cathy has a direct yet empathetic therapy style, collaborating with her clients to help them reach their goals. Cathy loves to incorporate humor in her sessions, welcomes swearing, and genuinely enjoys her clients. Background & qualifications
Cathy is a full-time Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and the Executive Director of Mindful Solutions, LLC. She received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University where she obtained comprehensive clinical training at The Family Institute's Bette D. Harris Family and Child Clinic as well as in the Community Program working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. She has been practicing since 2014 and is a National Clinical Fellow member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Cathy was selected to be a Teaching Assistant for the renowned Marriage 101 class at Northwestern University. The class has been widely discussed and has received international recognition due to its relevance and popularity. Cathy is an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor, who supervised Therapists-in-Training at the Family Institute at Northwestern University and offers supervision nationally. Cathy's supervising interests include supervising students obtaining their master degrees in therapy, post-graduates, and licensed clinicians. She is able to offer supervision toward licensure hours, pending confirmation of individual state requirements.
